Day 1: Speak It

Day 1: Speak It

“Your life never goes anywhere your
words don’t go first.”

-Chip Judd

Why is it important to speak the word of God over our lives?

“For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, and it pierces more sharply than a two-edged sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet. It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts.” – Hebrews 4:12 (TPT)

When you read this verse, what does it say to you about our Almighty God? “For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy…” Think of something that is full of energy. How would you describe it?

The Bible is a BIG BALL of ENERGY! It is ALIVE and MOVING! The word of God is more than a book of printed words. The same voice that spoke creation into existence and formed humankind through His breath, inspired these holy scriptures to life! The Bible is alive, moving, and has many dimensions. These words have power, and our minds and spirits are quickened to them.

“It pierces more sharply than a two-edged sword…”

“Two-edged sword” as used here can also mean “two-mouthed.” It is God’s mouth paired with your voice (mouth) in AGREEMENT. When it all comes together, this godly agreement is sharper than a double-edged sword. Daughter, the word of God is your sword! You are created in your Father’s image. He has a powerful voice and He created you with one as well –– in other words, it’s a trait shared between you and the God of the universe. Take a moment to receive this truth. The ability to speak is a powerful tool created for divine purpose. When our voice and His unite, truth is activated.

Your voice matters. Hold your head high with confidence and SPEAK life over your negative self talk, over the broken-heartedness, over the sick, over the depressed, and do it knowing your Father is partnering with you to spread His love to others. Daughter, that will put a smile on your face! Your voice has great purpose. It connects us to our Father, and it is also a bridge for others to experience the love and power of their Father. Partner with Him and walk in your authority by SPEAKING the word of God.

REFLECTION & JOURNAL

God gives each of us a mouth and voice to partner with Him. What does this say about His nature?

What other characteristics do you think we share with God? Why do you think we share them?

“…It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet. It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts…”

I love this! We are often taught to use the Bible to fight against the enemy and the circumstances that stand in our way. While God cares about your circumstances, He often works in you before He works around you. The Father knows that sometimes we first need to fight the battles raging within. The word of God will search, highlight, and expose areas of your life that need God’s attention. Use the word of God on yourself first, taking the authority to shift atmospheres and solve problems.

Make it a daily routine to partner with the Holy Spirit to examine your thoughts and attitudes.

So Daughter of the King, YES, let’s speak the word of God over our lives and watch what happens on the inside and around you! Come in agreement with HIM.

REFLECTION & JOURNAL

In what ways are you using your voice today?

Take a few minutes and allow God to search your heart. Are there areas of your life you need to surrender to Him? Are there things you need to let go of?

Think of a few ways you can use your voice to partner with God. I did the first one for you!

I will speak Psalm 34 over myself while putting my makeup on each morning.

Love this time with the lord.

“Two-mouthed” that part. So good. Thank you for reminding us to speak better words.
