Allow about 30 minutes to complete this day.
Applying your makeup is often a 15 to 30-minute daily routine. Let this time become a time of worship and communion with the Father. I challenge you to let this be a holy time spent loving on Him and receiving His love. Read the scripture below.
“Let every activity of your lives and every word that comes from your lips be drenched with the beauty of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. And bring your constant praise to God the Father because of what Christ has done for you!” Colossians 3:17
What does this scripture say about God and who He is?
Speak the scriptures below over yourself while putting on your makeup, and then open your heart to Him.
“My lips are full of perpetual praise.” Ps. 34:1 (TPT)
“Gaze upon him, join your life with his, and joy will come.” Ps. 34:5 (TPT) “Your faces will glisten with glory, and you’ll never wear that shame-face again.” Ps. 34:5 (TPT)
Tell Him you love Him! Tell Him what you love about Him. Declare His faithfulness, His gentleness and His unfailing love. Thank Him for the breath in your lungs, for your job, for your friends, and start thanking Him for the day ahead.
Some days this will be a challenge. You may feel ugly, tired, hopeless, scared or nervous, or maybe you are at rock bottom. Counter those feelings by opening your mouth and start praising Him for the finished work of the cross. Studies show that 80% of our moods are self-generated. Imagine the impact of turning our negative self-talk into gratitude and CONSTANT praise. You will start to experience a never-ending supply of love, grace, mercy, and joy. Daughter, I PROMISE He will meet you in that praise and thanksgiving!! Open your heart.
The mirror is perhaps the most important object for applying your makeup. The definition of “mirror” states, “a reflective surface, typically of glass coated with a metal amalgam that reflects a clear image.” You have mirrors in your house, in your purse, in your car, in stores, and in every bathroom. It’s fair to say mirrors are the primary objects you use to see yourself each day. Since the beginning of time, the enemy has used lies to bring about confusion, doubt, and fear of who we truly are … and the mirror is where it starts for most. You start to compare and you start to question your self worth. The devil has successfully used the mirror as a place to
implant lies and distract you from what the mirror truly reflects — the image of God. It’s a place where heaven and hell collide.
As a daughter, you reflect His glory. Reclaim your time in front of the mirror! Posture yourself as a daughter of the King and know that when you see your reflection it’s God’s glory you see! You are His creation and He makes no mistakes!! Don’t bite the apple and don’t buy into the lie when you look in that mirror.
Let’s go back to the definition of a mirror–it reflects a CLEAR image. Commit yourself to the truth, not the lie.
One of the many definitions of apply is, “to put or spread something on a surface.”
By quoting the scriptures out loud and spreading the living word of God onto your lips, eyes, and face, you are activating your faith and walking in truth. It’s a stance you’re taking to show your Father you are partnering with HIM. You choose HIM and you will EVER BE His and EVER BE yours, no matter the circumstances — good or bad. It’s an action paired with your voice, which is more powerful than words alone. The action is what activates the words, basically saying, “Guess what, world! I am doing it!”
REFLECTION & JOURNAL
Think about your daily makeup routine. What do you think about while applying your makeup? What will you change to include HIM during this time? What lies do you believe when you look in the mirror? Make a list in a journal of every lie you are listening to, counter it with a truth about who HE says you are! Change your mindset.
